Donkey Donkey old and Gray
60Donkey, donkey old and gray
Prance around the barn
Angry at Farmer Brown
He called him an ass
They called him an old mule,
While he brays and grazes the grass
Farmer Brown took him to town
One hot summer day
The church bell rang dong
And spook the old fellow
Old lady Barker gives him a cube of sugar
To calmed his getters
Officer Lloyd told her not to litter.
The life of a donkey is hard you see
When humans ride him all day
he would never get to the end of the rope
knowing no one would every love him
But the fool in him continues to hope
The humble ass it seems still has a role
To play in the lives of millions
when you have a case of the "if onlys"
the poor donkey learned to be content
whatever the circumstances.

Wonderful poem. There are many "Donkeys" out there I am afraid. Voted up.
We have a town about 90 miles from Vegas that has donkeys roaming around. When we go there I buy carrots for them.
I also remember then being on beaches in England for rides. Voted up and funny.
I love donkeys and enjoyed your poem, thank you!
